There's hardly a better place to learn to surf than the Southern California locale of Santa Barbara, which offers fantastic weather year-round. During this 1.5-hour lesson, an expert instructor shows you how to stand up on your surfboard and balance, offering tips on how to catch the perfect wave while ensuring your safety in the water. Wetsuit and surfboard rental are included, and all skill levels are welcome.

I'm an artist and 10-year resident of San Francisco. I studied visual art at South China Normal University and Sonoma State University. My work is a dynamic encounter with nature, perception and the many challenges that lead us towards a place of insight and learning. My more recent work explores meditative states and healing arts. I paint as I live - with the intention of showing that life is about realizing possibilities.

Even if you don't consider yourself a writer, but would like to reconnect with your creative side (and some cool like-minded people), experience a few inspiring hours at the beach! Transportation and organic wine and/or bottled water are included. One departure time on either Thursdays or Saturdays is offered.
