Mt Gubalówka
Mt Gubalowka is a mountain above the town of Zakopane in southern Poland. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the region, offering amazing views of the Tatras Mountains and a variety of outdoor activities throughout the year. The best way to reach the top is by the funicular that will take you up from Zakopane in just three and a half minutes. First opened in 1938, it was rebuilt in 2001 and now carries up to 2,000 passengers per hour.
Mt Gubalowka has a popular ski resort with about three kilometers of ski runs open from early December to early April. In addition to the funicular, skiers can take a two-person chair lift, T-Bar or rope tow up the mountain. When the ski season ends, a summer toboggan run opens, as do biking and walking trails. Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park
Mosi-Oa-Tunya, or 'the smoke which thunders,' refers to the iconic Victoria Falls that give this national park in Zambia its native name. Montpellier Zoo
The second largest zoo in France, the Montpellier Zoo covers 60 hectares just north of the city center. Opened in 1964, the zoo is laid out like a safari park with open enclosures where most animals roam free. A children’s farm was added in 1982, new enclosures were developed for lions, bears and the rare white rhinoceros in 2001, and giraffes arrived at the zoo in 2010. Morne Bruce
On the southeast edge of Dominica’s capital Roseau, the small mountain Morne Bruce rises from the backside of the Dominica Botanical Gardens. From the top of Morne Bruce you can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of Roseau and western coastline, with the islands signature steep, verdant slopes plunging into the blue Caribbean Sea. Moses Mabhida Stadium
Durban's massive Moses Mabhida Stadium was one of the new stadiums built for the 2010 World Cup held in South Africa, hosting seven games during the tournament.
Since the World Cup, the stadium has been used for local games of soccer and cricket, as well as live concerts and other performances. The stadium is home to a local top-league soccer team, AmaZulu.
One of the defining architectural features of the stadium is an arch that extends over the length of the field. When the stadium is not in use, visitors can ride a funicular to the top of the arch, which offers excellent views over the city of Durban. Fronting the magnificent Jardin des Tuilieries and looking out across the Seine River, the Musée de l'Orangerie (Orangerie Museum) is situated in one of Paris’ most idyllic locations. Permanent Exhibitions at the Musée de l'Orangerie
Transformed into an art gallery in the early 20th century, the Musée de l'Orangerie displays a varied collection of 19th- and 20th-century art, with some fantastic examples of impressionist, post- impressionist, expressionist, and modern art. The star attraction of the museum’s permanent collections is Monet’s Water Lilies, displayed in a pair of evocatively lit ovular rooms. In the basement, the Jean Walter and Paul Guillaume collection brims with masterpieces by Renoir, Cezanne, Matisse, Modigliani, Picasso, and Soutine, and others.

Morne Coubaril
This historic 18th-century Morne Coubaril Estate still features the original, now restored, plantation house along with a reproduction farm worker’s village that depicts the plantation’s centuries-long history of cotton, sugarcane, cocoa and coffee production. Crops like coconuts and manioc still grow on the estate in the traditional ways, and guided tours include demonstrations for husking coconuts, along with tastings of ripe cocoa and fresh-pressed cane juice. The on-site restaurant serves a creole lunch buffet of St. Lucian specialties. Adventurous travelers can get their adrenaline fix on the Soufriere Hotwire, an hour-long zip-line excursion through the rainforests at the foot of picturesque Petit Piton. Morne Fortune
The name Morne Fortune translates to Hill of Good Luck in French, which must’ve been a sarcastic twist as this was the site of brutal battles between French and British forces. Today, you’ll find a French-built powder magazine and trio of guard cells are the oldest remaining structures. The Morne Battery still features the emplacement of four cannons (though not the cannons themselves) as well as a cemetery containing the graves of French and British soldier, a handful of civilians, and some of St. Lucia’s 19th-century governers. The 852-foot hill also offers a good view of nearby Castries Harbour.
Practical Info
Morne Fortune sits just to the south of Castries, about 8 minutes by car. The small hill has a number of historic sites and ruins that can be explored independently, making it worthwhile stop while exploring the island.

Mount Monserrate
Mists permitting, you’ll be able to see the gleaming white Basílica del Señor de Monserrate high above the city, beckoning from the thickly forested mountains that form Bogota’s spectacular backdrop. Originally built as a monastery in 1657, it is no wonder that this glorious spot has been a site of pilgrimage ever since.
The original stone path marked by statues depicting the 14 Stations of the Cross still leads from the colonial Candelaria district up to the sanctuary. It is a steep climb to a chilly 3152m (10,339ft) still used by pilgrims (and exercise buffs), particularly on weekends and religious holidays. Most tourists take advantage of either the funicular, a steeply pitched train, or teleferico, a cable car system, which both make the trip inexpensively throughout the day. If you do choose to walk, note that there have been muggings, so it might not be the best choice if you’re alone with an expensive camera.
And you’ll definitely want your camera with you, as the fantastic city views are worth remembering. If the mountain mists pour in over your visit, obscuring the city below, you’ll still enjoy exploring the whitewashed sanctuary and its unusual icons, the Black Virgin and Fallen Christ. Wandering through the simple yet inspiring compound, with its cobbled plazas and red tiled roofs, all wrapped in luxuriant high Andean forest, is a treat no matter what the weather. Two upscale onsite restaurants offer the option of enjoying a little more ambiance with your visit.

Montparnasse Cemetery (Cimetière Montparnasse)
Opened in 1824, the Montparnasse Cemetery (le Cimetière du Montparnasse) is the city’s second-largest cemetery after Père Lachaise. It is a cultural highlight of the Montparnasse neighborhood, thanks to its history and famous residents; after all, it’s the final resting place of Jean-Paul Sartre, Serge Gainsbourg, Charles Baudelaire, and more.

Originally known as the Cimetière du Sud (the Southern Cemetery), Montparnasse is one of Paris’ three largest and most important cemeteries. Established on what was formerly farmland, the cemetery is today renowned as a final resting place of artists, writers, and other important cultural figures. Alternatively, take bus lines 28, 58, 82, 88, 89, 91, 92, 94, 95, or 96 to reach the site. The cemetery is also accessible on foot, by taxi or car, or by Vélib’.

Montparnasse Cemetery is open daily; depending on the season, it opens at 8, 8:30, or 9am and closes at 5:30 or 6pm. The cemetery is a scenic destination throughout the year, whether flanked by golden leaves, dappled with sunlight, or dusted with snow.

Morne Trois Pitons National Park
UNESCO World Heritage-listed Morne Trois Pitons National Park surrounds Dominica’s second highest mountain, Morne Trois Pitons. The lush 6,857-hectare (16,936-acre) park protects six vegetation zones, from low-lying woodlands to mature rainforest.
This is the lair of the giant guinea pig known as the agouti, along with bats, frogs, parrots and hummingbirds.
Trails wind through the park to lofty lookouts from the mountain town of Laudat, on the park’s western border. A particularly scenic path winds around the perimeter of Freshwater Lake in the park, around a 30-minute stroll.
Easier access is provided by the 45-minute aerial rainforest tram, departing from Laudat. Hold your breath as you walk over the swaying suspension bridge over the treetops.
