Rainbow Magic Land
Just as its name implies, Rainbow Magic Land is a fantasy world of color and magic — a theme park for families to explore, located just outside of Rome. With more than thirty attractions and ten different shows, there is plenty to see and do, from roller coaster rides to live entertainment. Areas are themed with castles, fairies, Vikings, wizards, and other enchanted characters, some of which are from popular cartoons shown in Europe. Sections of the park are inspired by the Italian Rainbow Group for children with animated characters such as Winx fairies, Monster Allergy, and Huntik PopPixie.
There are also many restaurant, shopping, and entertainment options throughout. Seasonally the options expand, as ice, water, and firework shows are added. The park is partly powered by solar energy. At over 600,000 square meters in size, there are plenty of adventures to be had!

Raghadan Palace
In Amman’s old quarter, Raghadan Palace was the first of many Crown properties to be built in the Royal Hashemite Court compound. Designed by Lebanese architect Saadedinne Chatella and built in 1926 as the residence of King Abdullah I and his family, the ornate palace is designed in traditional Islamic architecture style, with stained glass windows inspired by Jerusalem’s iconic al-Aqsa Mosque. Built from stone sourced from the Jordanian town of Ma’an, Raghadan Palace is also famous for its ornate woodwork and Throne Room ceiling fresco.
Renovated in the 1980s after a fire, you may recognize the Throne Room from the newspapers: it’s where King Abdullah II hosts royalty and Heads of State like Barack Obama for important meetings and ceremonies.
“Raghadan” means “the very best life,” and the palace even has its own galleried prayer hall, al-Maar al A’la, on the ground floor. Basman Palace, the offices of the current king, is also in the court compound, as is Al-Qasr Al-Sagheer where Queen Rania works from. Just outside the palace, you’ll recognize the Raghadan Flagpole — standing 416 feet tall, the flag can be seen from 12 miles away, making it one of the tallest flagpoles in the world.

Quinta Vergara
Viña del Mar is nicknamed “Garden City,” and visitors to Quinta Vergara — a beautifully landscaped park — will understand why. Portuguese shipping tycoon Francisco Alvarez acquired a 19-century hacienda on the site of the park in 1840. His wife Dolores, an avid botanist, transformed the existing grounds into a botanical garden filled with exotic flora from around the globe.
The Venetian Gothic style Palacio Vergara, located at the heart of Quinta Vergara, was built in 1910 as the home of Dolores’s granddaughter who had married Jose Francisco Vergara, the founder of Viña del Mar. It was later converted into a fine art museum to display a collection of 17- to 19-century art until an earthquake caused extensive damage to the structure in 2010.
Each February, the otherwise peaceful park hosts a lineup of Latin pop acts during the Festival of Song.

Quirinale Palace (Palazzo del Quirinale), the official residence of the president of the Italian Republic, sits on Quirinal Hill, the highest of Rome’s historic seven hills. Quinta Do Gradil
Backed by the rolling foothills of the Serra de Montejunto in the Estremadura/Lisboa wine-producing region, the history of the Quinta do Gradil wine estate dates right back to 1492, when it was mentioned in royal documents. By the 18th century it was thriving in the hands of the Marquis of Pombal, who led the rebuilding of Lisbon after the devastating earthquake of 1755 and who also established the Douro as the first official wine-growing region in the world. Today the estate is owned by the wealthy wine-expert Luís Vieira, who produces six top-quality white, rosé and red wines. Sitting among 220 hectares, half of which are planted with the vines of 12 grape varieties – including Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier – the park also includes peach and pear orchards as well as pine and eucalyptus forest; at its heart sits a low-slung, butter-colored 18th-century palace surrounded by modern-day cellars, storage and tasting rooms. Scattered across the grounds are an historic chapel, an aqueduct, mill and granary; as well as tours, tastings, the chance to buy wines and a acclaimed restaurant overlooking the neat ranks of vines, the Quinta do Gradil also offers horseback riding and bird watching.

Quriyat
Quriyat (also spelled Qurayyat) is a small coastal town near Muscat. The city’s past is defined by the violent resistance to Portuguese invasion, though these days it’s more of a quiet fishing village. The main draw for most visitors is the Quriyat Fort, which sits right in the middle of town. Check out the large wooden doors and old artillery.
There are beaches, a small souk, an old Shareestha tree, a large mangrove swamp and a seaside corniche to explore. At the end of the corniche lies the small harbor, which historically was a major Omani sea port and today is the center of the fishing action. Many boats sit on the surrounding sand, looking up at the fort and castle above. There are also grand views of the town and natural surrounding area from the nearby Quriyat Dam.

Raj Ghat
At the site of Mahatma Ghandi's cremation in 1948 is a memorial. In black marble, surrounded by lawn and with an eternal flame burning, Raj Ghat remembers the man who is known as the Father of India for his tireless and pacifist work to reclaim India's independence from Britain. The memorial has the words 'He Ram,' which translates as 'O, God,' said to be the last words spoken by Ghandi after his assassination. Every Friday, the day of his death, a memorial ceremony is held.
'Raj Ghat' loosely translates as 'Kings Bank' and Ghandi's memorial is not the only one here. There are also many others to India's Prime Ministers since independence, including Indira Ghandi, similarly assassinated, and Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of independent India.

Quinta de Bolíva
Simon Bolivar is an absolute legend in much of Latin America. Considered “The Liberator” for much of the continent, he fought tirelessly for numerous nations to gain their independence—and lived here, in Quinta de Bolivar, between his political conquests. Ragigudda Anjaneya Temple
Up a hillock lies this ornate temple dedicated to the Hindu god Hanuman. Resembling a monkey, Hanuman is worshipped for various benefits, including health, wealth, happiness, and success. There are also shrines devoted to Shiva, Rama, Sita and Lakshmana.
It is believed that a heap of ragi (a food grain) was turned into a stone, giving the temple its name. It was then that the Hindu holy trinity Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva turned themselves into stone to remain at the temple site. These large stones now bear engravings representing this trinity.
Located in a suburb of Bangalore and built in 1969, the temple has become a social center with a charitable focus. There is an ornate gate that leads to an open auditorium, pond, and yoga center. Several cows that wander the area. In December of every year, the festival of Sri Hanumajjayanthi attracts nearly 35,000 pilgrims for a 12-day long event.

Qusayr Amra
Qasr Amra earned itself UNESCO World Heritage site status in 1985 because of its famous frescoes, and it’s one of Jordan’s most renowned desert castles. Built near a wadi of pistachio trees during the reign of Walid I in around AD 711, restorations by a group of Spanish archaeologists in the 1970s unveiled floor-to-ceiling frescoes that caused the powers that be at UNESCO to describe the castle as a “masterpiece of human creative genius.”
Built from limestone and basalt, from the outside Qasr Amra doesn’t look particularly special. And then you enter. Greeted by frescoes of cherubs and hunters, nude women bathing, and all kinds of scenes of wine drinking, the racy images are a world away from typical Islamic art. Look up at the ceiling of Qasr Amra’s main dome to see an accurate painting of the zodiac, still remarkably well preserved after 12,000 years.

Fifty-three miles from Amman and 16 miles from Azraq on the north side of Hwy 40m, you can visit Qsar Amra by car or hire a taxi from Azraq. There’s an onsite visitor center where you can collect your ticket, which costs JD 2 and which is valid also for the desert castles Qsar al-Azraq and Qsar Kharana. Qsar Amra is open 8am-6pm from May to September, and from 8am-4pm October to April.

Rajarajeshwari Temple
This temple in Bangalore South is one of the most important places of worship in the city. It is finely carved out of pure granite and stands tall as an excellent example of Dravidian style architecture.
The temple’s massive entrance tower can be seen from miles away. Entering from the road through its striking entrance arch, there is also a prominent sanctum, porch, and pillared hallway that makes up the complex. There is a walking path circling the whole area and various courtyards to explore.
The highlight of a visit here is the six foot tall stone statue of the Hindu goddess Raja Rajeshwari, the main deity after which the temple is named. Marvel at the intricately designed pillars and decorated walls that have stood for centuries, or relax with a stroll through the temple gardens.

Rajpath (King's Way)
Rajpath, or King’s Way, is a grand boulevard running through the heart of New Delhi from Rashtrapati Bhawan through India Gate and on to the National Stadium. The 2-mile (3.2-kilometer) stretch of road, considered one of the most important in India, is home to some of Delhi’s top attractions, making it a perfect starting point for a walking tour of the new city.

Qutub Minar
The superb buildings in this complex date from the onset of Islamic rule in India. The Qutub Minar (Qutb Minar or Qutab Minar) itself is a soaring 240 foot (73 meter) high tower of victory that was started in 1193, immediately after the defeat of the last Hindu kingdom in Delhi. At its base is Quwwat ul-Islam Masjid (Might of Islam Mosque), India's first mosque.
The tower has 5 distinct stories, each marked by a projecting balcony, and it tapers, like something out of a fairytale, from a 50 ft (15 m) diameter at the base to just 8 ft (2.5 m) at the top. The first 3 stories are made of red sandstone, the fourth and fifth of marble and sandstone. The stairs inside the tower coil so steeply that they're enough to make the hardiest climber dizzy and claustrophobic, and it was no surprise when a stampede during a school trip in 1979 resulted in a number of deaths. The inside of the tower has since been closed to visitors.
An inscription over the mosque's eastern gate provocatively informs that it was built with material obtained from demolishing 27 idolatrous (read Hindu) temples. A 23 ft (7 m) high iron pillar stands in the courtyard of the mosque and it's said that if you can encircle it with your hands while standing with your back to it, your wish will be unfulfilled; however, the pillar is now protected by a fence.

Quiraing
The Quiraing is a hiking trail on the Isle of Skye in northern Scotland. The trail is a loop covering a distance of about 4.2 miles. It passes through spectacular Scottish landscapes and is part of the Trotternish Ridge. This ridge was formed by a massive landslip, which created cliffs, plateaus, and rock pinnacles. If you enjoy taking pictures, bring your camera to capture the scenery you'll see along the way. You'll be able to see the water as well as the many strange and beautiful land formations in the area.
The path starts through steep grassy slopes, and crosses rock gorges and streams. Parts of the trail are covered in loose gravel. Along the way, you will pass large rock formations, climb over rock walls, and walk near the edges of cliffs. It is a fairly difficult trail, and it is not recommended in bad weather due to visibility and trail conditions.

Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca)
One would think that a rainbow-colored mountain would be fairly easy to spot, but in the case of Vinicunca, set high in the Peruvian Andes, getting a view of the multihued wonder means waking up early to trek through mountains that burst with natural colors, but are thin on air considering they rise over 17,000 feet (5181m). Despite the physical challenges, however, seeing Vinicunca in person is a once-in-a-lifetime visual treat where you’ll likely find yourself gawking in silence and wondering, “how is this real?” With impressively straight and colorful lines, “Rainbow Mountain,” as it’s come to be known, explodes with hues of lavender and red that are caused by minerals in the soil, and looks like something from a coloring book as opposed to an actual Andean peak that few are lucky to see.
Insider's Tip: Be sure to pack clothes for all types of weather, as snow, ice, hail, rain, and searing sun are all possible in the span of a few hours. Also be sure to wear hiking boots, since steep sections of trail can become very slippery if there’s been any rain or snow.

The best season for trekking near Cuzco is from April through October when it’s a bit colder, but the weather is much drier. To see Rainbow Mountain, you can either choose from a 6-day trek on the remote Ausangate Trail, or do an abbreviated, 1-day trek that departs from Cuzco around 3am and offers a view of Vinicunca on a challenging, but attainable trail. Because of the very high altitude, however, hikers should be in relatively good health and already acclimatized to the altitude.

The Raffles Landing Site is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Since the site lacks much in the way of shade or shelter, it’s best to visit in the morning or late afternoon when it’s not too hot.
Where to See the Original Statue
The current statue at the Raffles Landing Site is actually a copy; it was erected in 1969 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Singapore’s founding. The original bronze statue, sculpted by Thomas Woolner, is now on display outside the Victoria Concert Hall at Empress Place.

Rainforest and Canopy Walk
Get a taste of the local flora and fauna at Kuala Lumpur’s Forest Reserve Institute of Malaysia (FRIM). At over 3,775 acres, FRIM holds hundreds of plant species and both regenerated and secondary forest.
Visitors hike along shady trails past a river and waterfall cutting through the forest, as well as the remains of an old Orang Asli settlement. The Dipterocarp arboretum is a collection of living trees for botanical reference, and the Bambusetum features 30 different species of local bamboo.
The more adventurous may want to explore some of the four jungle tracks: Keruing Trail, Rover Track, Engkabang Trail and Salleh Trail, all of which pass through some of most spectacular secondary forests in Malaysia.
Also a highlight is the Canopy Walk, allowing up close exploration of the rainforest’s treetops. Canopy Walks are limited to 250 people per day and are closed Monday and Friday.
