What To Expect
Meet a driver at your Funchal hotel for 8:30am departure, then travel to the northwest side of Madeira, where your first stop of the day is the town of Sao Vincente, a coastal village set in a picture-perfect valley. You'll get panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and sea as you travel, then continue to a traditional factory and saw mill to get a sense of the industries that once fueled Madeira's island economy. The route continues to a series of communities, including Ponta Delgada, Boa Ventura, Arco de Sāo, Jorge, and Cabanas, passing gardens, forest landscapes, and old fashioned architecture along the way. In the town of Santana, stop to see the typical thatched houses, then get a spectacular view of Ponta de Sao Lourenço, and explore Porta da Cruz and Caniçal. Midway through the day, the tour will pause for lunch, and you'll have the option to purchase a three-course meal for €12.00. When your route wraps back around the island to Funchal, this full-day tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel.
