What To Expect
Begin with pickup at your centrally-located hotel in Vancouver or Richmond, then travel across the Lions Gate bridge to Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal, where you'll board the scenic ferry to Bowen Island. Take in views into Howe Sound during the 20-minute ferry trip, and watch for wildlife along the way - sea birds, seals, and dolphins are common sights in Howe Sound. When you reach Snug Harbor, hike into Crippen Regional Park towards Killarney Lake. You'll hike a total of 7.5-miles throughout the day, following easy to intermediate trails with a total elevation gain of 328 feet (100 mt.). Walk along the shore of Killarney Lake, passing a waterfall and salmon ladder on the way, weaving through groves of cedar and hemlock trees. Pause for a picnic lunch by the lake (bring your own), then continue back through town to Dorman Point, a 30-minute hike to an overlook with views of Howe Sound, the islands, and North Shore mountains. Return to the village to visit Main Street shops or get a snack before boarding the return ferry to Horseshoe Bay. This tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel. Please Note: Minimum of 2 people per booking
