What To Expect
Explore the sparkling history of Champagne on this delightful day trip from Paris. Meet your guide in a central city location, and climb aboard an air-conditioned coach for the approximately 1.5-hour scenic drive to Reims. The largest city in the Champagne region, Reims holds a sacred place in French history as the coronation site of many of the country's monarchs. Tour the famous Notre Dame cathedral while your guide shares the history of the many kings who were crowned here. Next, see where some of the world's most famous Champagne comes from with a visit to G.H. Mumm cellars. Taste Mumm's classic Cordon Rouge and learn how this renowned winemaking house has been producing Champagne using traditional methods for almost 200 years.After a stop for lunch in Reims (own expense), continue on to the picturesque town of Epernay. Visit the historic cellars of Cartier, which has been producing Champagne since 1858. Tour the extensive, atmospheric caves, and enjoy another tasting above ground.
