What To Expect
Start with 6am pickup at your hotel in Jerusalem, then begin the trip to the Sea of Galilee, a roughly 3-hour drive north of the city. The first stop of the day is Magdala, the site of an ancient fishing village with a Second Temple-era synagogue, which is believed to have been in use during Jesus' lifetime. Continue towards the western shore of the Sea of Galilee, and visit the Yigal Allon Museum, where you'll see the remains of a 1st century fishing boat that was discovered in the Sea of Galilee. Drive north around the Sea to the Mount of Beatitudes, which Matthew and Luke identify as the location of the Sermon on the Mount. Visit the Catholic chapel on top of the mountain, where Jesus is said to have multiplied fishes and loaves, saying "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth". The final stop of the day is Cana, site of the Biblical wedding where Jesus turned water into wine. Visit the Franciscan Wedding Church that commemorates the event, and after your time in Cana, begin the return trip to Jerusalem. This 12-hour tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel in Jerusalem.
