What To Expect
Meet a driver at your hotel in Corralejo, then board a soft-top Land Rover Defender Jeep for the trip into the countryside. Leave the village behind as you travel to Villaverde, driving past long rows of agave, long used on the island to make rope and traditional espadrilles. You'll pass the elegant Casa de los Coroneles along the way, stop to see a small church and plaza, and continue to the village of La Oliva for a short break. Keep driving into the Tindaya region, whose dramatic coastal cliffs drop to crystal-clear bays, with long views across the island's northeastern coast and a series of picturesque beaches.Pause to explore Cotillo's Castle Tostón, a stone tower that offers a great perspective on the shore, then cool off with a swim from the Playa de Cotillo - the beach abuts a small fishing village that's dedicated to the Virgin de Buen Viaje, or Virgin of Good Travel. From there, you'll follow the Route of the Volcanoes to Bayuvo Volcano, climbing to the edge of the crater to see the remains of the island's earliest volcanic activity. After your time at Bayuvo Volcano, begin the return trip to Corralejo, where this tour concludes.
