What To Expect
Meet a driver at your Dead Sea hotel for 9am departure, then enjoy views of the desert scenery during the trip to Amman in a climate-controlled vehicle (the drive to Amman varies with location, but starts at roughly one hour). Upon arrival in Amman, get an overview of the historic and modern parts of the city, then make the first stop of the day at the The Jordan Museum (entrance fees not included, roughly USD $7). Continue into downtown, where you'll have free time to explore the gold and spice markets, then continue to The Citadel - your excursion includes admission and a guided tour of The Citadel with a local guide. If you've selected the lunch option, pause for lunch at a local restaurant, and enjoy a meal of traditional Arabic mezze (drinks not included). The next stop is King Abdullah Mosque, then you'll tour some of Amman's fascinating neighborhoods, from the arts district of Jabal Al Weibdeh, to Rainbow Street and the modern Abdoun and Swefieh areas. Visit the magnificent Roman Amphitheater, which dates back to the 2nd century, walk through King Hussein Park, and explore the Royal Automobile Museum. If time allows, you may also stop to visit some of Amman's new malls, such as Mecca Mall and City Mall. This 8-hour tour concludes with the return trip to the Dead Sea.
