The Great Wall of China is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the Seven Wonders of the World, but most parts of the wall have been heavily restored. What To Expect

Your tour begins with pickup from your central Beijing hotel between 6am and 6.30am. Traveling aboard a comfortable coach, take in the scenery on the around 2.5-hour journey, during which you'll be served a light breakfast on-board. The first stop of the day is the Gubei Water Town, where you'll have time to explore the historic town with its maze-like hutongs (alleyways) and scenic waterways. While you're there, perhaps peek into the handicrafts workshops, visit a Chinese wine distillery, or see a traditional martial arts performance. After a break for lunch (own expense), continue to the Simatai section of the Great Wall. Listen as your guide explains how the wall was first constructed in the 6th century and later rebuilt by General Qi Jiguang of the Ming Dynasty - it is now the only remaining section of the original wall. You will have ample time to walk part of the 3.4-mile (5.4-kilometer) wall, admire the views from the towers, and take plenty of photos.
