What To Expect
Meet a guide at the Lamarck Caulaincourt Metro, then set out on a route through Montmartre that's carefully designed to get beyond the main tourist sights. Along the way, you'll discover the side of the neighborhood that drew Picasso, Modigliani, and Utrillo, and see the places where those artists lived, drank, danced, and painted. Throughout the tour, your guide will share stories and insight into Montmartre's past, pointing out the details that make the neighborhood so interesting. See the remaining windmills - the Moulin de la Galette, and the Moulin Rouge - and walk past tiny cabarets and Montmartre's most famous restaurants. Watch modern-day Parisian artists at work in the artists' square, then get amazing views across the city from Sacr e Coeur, a hilltop Roman Catholic basilica. Continue to Clos Montmartre, a vineyard that's right in the middle of the densely populated neighborhood, and find out how wine is made in the local town hall. This two-hour walking tour of Montmartre concludes at the Blanche metro station.
