Embark on you 1-hour tour that will take you back in history to a time when the estate was a bustling center of community and activity.Walk through a small village filled with replicas of stick huts where the residents of the island lived in the 1700s. Continue through the estate's lucsh gardens, which feature a plethora of plants, trees and vegetation native to the island. Learn about the herbs used to treat illnesses and injuries as you amble through the medicinal herb garden. End up at the Monplaisir family's estate house, the centerpiece of the property and a grand example of architecture from the time. Watch a demonstration of how to dehusk a coconut and learn how to dry the copra in your own oven. Indulge in a taste of coconut water and jell, then continue to a viewpoint to take in dramatic vistas. Visit the cocoa and coffee house to taste a ripe cocoa bean. Watch the fermentation process, the bean drying and the cocoa dance used to polish the beans. Stop by a traditional mule-driven sugar cane mill to sip a typical island treat, fresh cane juice.Your tour ends after 1 hour on the estate.
