Cross the Barron River on the Kuranda Riverboat and disembark in a secluded rainforest clearing to begin your 1-hour walking tour. Follow your guide along a well-maintained forest trail to see different trees, vines, lianas and ferns in this tropical rainforest. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife such as cassowaries that may be spotted in this section of the rainforest. After your walk, duck into a rainforest tea room for light refreshments before returning to Kuranda Village by riverboat.

What To Expect
Just below the Kuranda Scenic Railway, you can find the jetty for the Kuranda Riverboat. Step aboard and glide across the Barron River to a secluded section of the forest that is only accessible by boat.Your guide meets you when you arrive from the riverboat. After introductions, set out on a leisurely walk through this secluded section of the rainforest. Part of the trail dates back to the 1920s when an entrepreneur named Dan Duggan established a tourism attraction that allowed visitors to experience the beauty of the rainforest. Hear more about this early venture along with fascinating details about the wildlife and history of the area.At the end of your guided walk, sip tea or coffee accompanied by cake in a covered open-air tea room in the rainforest. Then return to the Kuranda Riverboat for transfer back to Kuranda village.
