What To Expect
The Lava Legends and Legacies Big Island Luau can often sell out weeks in advance, so be sure to reserve your spot in advance. On this popular island luau performance, follow the sound of the bellowing conch and the flickering row of torches, and prepare for an evening of Polynesian culture that's set to the beat of the drums. Your evening begins by receiving a shell lei and relaxing in the tropical trade winds, and perusing the booths of locally made crafts and famous unearthing of the pig. As the sun sinks low on the western horizon, feast on Polynesian cuisine such as pork, sweet potatoes, and poi (a sticky, taro-root based dish), and feel free to go back for multiple plates since the luau is all you can eat. Dinner is accompanied by a pareu fashion show up on the luau stage. Once the stars begin twinkling in the sky, the evening heats up with the fiery performance of 'Lava, Legends and Legacies.'
