What To Expect
Your tour starts in the morning with the transfer from Quito to the horse ranch. Upon arrival, you'll be paired with an Andean horse for your ride through the Pululahua Crater, one of the biggest on the continent and one of the only inhabited craters in the world. Learn about the biodiversity of the caldera and its ever-changing environment during your ride as you circle the central lava cone. Sights include remnants of volcanic eruptions, geological formations, mineral avalanches with blooming wildflowers, and local agriculture. The length of your ride is about four hours, after which you'll have lunch before the car ride to your next destination, the 'Mitad del Mundo.' With a guide, take a tour to learn about the history and traditions of the area's tribes. With the help of a few quizzes, find out how this location got its name, Middle of the World. (Entrance fee to the Intinan Museum is not included.)Your tour then ends with return to Quito for hotel drop-off.
