What To Expect
Make your way to the National Quilt Museum, where you can present your voucher for admission. Tour the museum at your own pace, with plenty of time to see the exhibits that interest you most. Learn about the quilters that contribute work to each exhibit: the National Quilt Museum features celebrity quilters like Kaffe Fassett alongside unknown artists from the Midwest, Manhattan, or abroad. In addition to the quilts themselves, see art that celebrates quilting, like the museum's quilt-inspired stained glass windows, and a trompe l'oeil, hand-carved wooden quilt. The museum was founded 25 years ago by a pair of quilting enthusiasts from Paducah, and it's grown into the largest quilting-specific facility in the world. Plan your visit for a Wednesday for the chance to meet the YoYo Club of Paducah, who demonstrate hand quilting techniques on a wooden frame in the museum lobby. All galleries and exhibits at the National Quilt Museum are wheelchair accessible.
