What To Expect

Make your own way to the meeting point in Quito's Mariscal district in time for a 6.45am departure. Traveling aboard an air-conditioned tour bus with your small group of up to 15 people, set out on the around 45-minute drive to the first stop of the day - the Mitad del Mundo (the 'Middle of the World') to see the famous Equator line (entrance not included). Continue through the Andes, stopping along the way to visit the Cayambe Bizcochos factory (entrance not included) and sample the traditional local biscuits. Make a final stop at a viewpoint, looking out over Quito, Cotopaxi, and Cayambe, before arriving in Otavalo around 11am. Spend time exploring the traditional Andean village and learning about its rich indigenous heritage. Then, visit the famous Otavalo market, where you can shop for vibrant artworks, traditional handicrafts, and unique souvenirs. Leave the bustling marketplace behind and head into the surrounding countryside to visit Cuicocha, a vast crater lake, set in a stunning location at the foot of the Cotacachi Volcano. After enjoying lunch at a local restaurant (included), make a final stop in Cotacachi, renowned as Ecuador's leather capital, where you can spend time browsing the shops and perhaps pick up some quality leather goods.
