What To Expect
Begin with pickup at your Marrakech accommodations, and travel to Ouzoud Waterfalls in a private vehicle. The 90-mile (150km) journey climbs into the Grand Atlas foothills to the northeast of the city, then passes through a series of small mountain villages. You'll hear the roar of the 300-foot (100-meter) waterfall as soon as you arrive at Ouzoud, where the El Abid River drops several times into a deep, broad pool. Spend an independent day visiting the falls: bring a swim suit to enjoy the water at the base, hike trails through groves of olive trees, or have lunch at a riverside restaurant. Spot some of the Barbary macaque monkeys that live in the lush river valley, and try crossing El Abid River the traditional way, on a hand-operated rope ferry that links the two riverbanks. At the end of the day, meet your driver for the return trip to Marrakech. This tour concludes with drop-off at your accommodations.
