• Your English-speaking driver will give a general overview regarding the history of the areas in the car before you start walking around on your own. He will allow all the time you need to visit with no rushing as in group tours. By Italian law he is unable to conduct guiding inside museums, monuments, etc, or even to leave the car to walk around with you
• It is suggested to hire a private walking guide for 2 hours to be with you in Pompeii and 2 hours in Herculaneum. The guide will be going at your own pace, so that you can see everything that you'd like to visit inside the excavations in Pompeii and Herculaneum without having to worry about anything.
• If you don't want to have a private guide to accompany you inside the excavations, you can always rent audio-guides at the entrance.
• The tickets (not included) to enter the excavations in Pompeii and Herculaneum can be purchased on site. Since there is no long line to skip, you won't need any reservations, and once you get there you'll be able to purchase your tickets and get inside in just a few minutes.
