What To Expect
Your private half-day tour starts with a pickup from your, Queenstown, Frankton or Arrowtown accommodation. Start by going to a high vantage point above Queenstown, where you will gain a great overview of Queenstown, the great Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables Range. There, discuss destination options, your itinerary and photography preferences, and the day's conditions. Some options include the old buildings and gold mining heritage of Queenstown and Central Otago, vineyards in the Gibbston Valley, vistas from mountain top lookouts, or nature shots at a wild river or beech forest. Go south along Lake Wakatipu and the base of The Remarkables Range toward Kingston for mountains, waterfalls, an old steam train, and the lakeshore. To the north, take in Coronet Peak and Skippers Canyon, discover the region's gold mining heritage, alpine tussock landscapes, and vertiginous Skippers Canyon road.Head west toward Glenorchy for waterfalls, views of Lake Wakatipu, Moke Lake, gold mining, farming, and Lord Of The Rings locations. To the east, find Arrowtown, the Crown Range, Gibbston Valley and rugged Kawarau Gorge.Receive advice on making great photos with composition and exposure. Snack on the provided coffee, tea and cookies and travel solo or with your own group in the morning or afternoon. If desired, the morning option can allow time to watch the sunrise, while the afternoon option can last long enough to see the sunset hour (please advise on booking).
