What To Expect
This tour begins at a centrally-located point (indicate your preferred location upon booking), then traces a route through some of New York's most popular neighborhoods. Start at Battery Park for views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Staten Island, and the New York Harbor, then take in some of the park's many historic memorials. See Castle Clinton National Monument, a circular sandstone fort that stands near the first Dutch settlement in New Amsterdam, which eventually grew into New York City. Visit the American Merchant Mariners' Memorial depicting a WWII-era tragedy at sea, then turn into the city to keep exploring. Tour the 'Canyon of Heroes,' where ticker tape parades have celebrated everything from George Washington's inauguration to the end of the Second World War and modern sports championships. Snap a selfie with the Charging Bull statue, then see Trinity Church, where Alexander Hamilton is buried alongside other historic New Yorkers. Walk down Wall Street to the New York Stock Exchange and Federal Hall, then learn the history of the World Trade Center, the September 11th attacks, and the 9/11 memorial as you make your way towards the site. Take in the moving 9/11 memorial, where the names of all the victims are inscribed on a series of bronze plaques.
