What To Expect

Before you enter, take time to admire the museum's stunning Grade I-listed building, the medieval 'King's House', located opposite Salisbury Cathedral. Inside, take a walk through over 500,000 years of human history a in the newly opened Wessex Gallery. Learn about the history of Wiltshire as you discover remarkable artifacts excavated from Stonehenge and Old Sarum; see the oldest gold objects ever found in Britain; and admire historic items including costumes, fine art, everyday objects and ceramics. Your entrance ticket also includes access to the museum's temporary exhibitions, while the museum caf e (open 10am - 4pm Monday to Saturday) offers great views of the neighboring Salisbury Cathedral.
