What To Expect
Meet your surf instructor and small group (limited to 6 students) at Koko Marina Center in Hawaii Kai. Complete some paperwork and get matched with the best surfboard for you. Next, you'll get a basic lesson on proper technique, including paddling and how to stand up on the board. After getting the basics on dry land, you'll head for the surf break, traveling by vehicle, and then possibly by boat out to the surf break. Spend the next 60 to 75 minutes mastering the basics (or honing your skills, if you're not a complete beginner). Your guide will be with your small group the whole time, giving pointers and taking photos. Back at the surf shop, you'll view photos and return your equipment.
