What To Expect
Find your way to the bustling Mercado Central, where you'll meet your guide and group, then set off in search of some local street art in the area. Head for El Carmen to see the UNESCO-listed La Lonja building, one of the most well-known civil Gothic monuments in Europe. Walk through the labyrinth of cobblestone streets to find hidden works of political and cultural significance. Along the way, your guide will give you an insider's perspective on the city's much-buzzed-about street art scene, and you'll stop to see some examples, including political and satirical commentary and debates over which ingredients make the most authentic paella.Break up your walk with a stop at one of the city's oldest horchaterias, where you'll sample the local favorite hot-weather drink, horchata, which is made from tigernuts, accompanied by a fartón (a sweet bun). Finish up your afternoon of art and culture with samples of some local beers, very different than beers most drinkers are used to.
