What To Expect
Meet a driver at your Mexico City hotel for 8am departure, then make the 30-mile (49-km.) drive to Teotihuacán. Upon arrival at the archeological site, see the highlights of the ancient city, from the iconic citadel to the Pyramid of the Sun, Pyramid of the Moon, and vibrant mural paintings. More than 125,000 people lived here at the height of the Aztec empire, and you'll find grand monuments alongside the places where Teotihuacán families lived and worked. Following your time at Teotihuacán, refuel with a meal in a local restaurant, then visit a local factory to try tequila, liqueurs, and pulque, alcohol fermented from the agave plant. If you've opted for the food tour with cooking class, take a break from the tastings for a course on pre-Hispanic cuisine, preparing foods that pre-date the arrival of Europeans in the Americas. At the end of a day of history and cuisine, return to Mexico City, where this tour concludes with 6pm drop-off at your original departure point.
