What To Expect
Make your way to Battery Park for a morning departure (exact departure times vary with season, see "Additional Info" for details), then board a ferry boat for Liberty Island with a local guide. Upon arrival at Liberty Island, you'll have access to the Statue pedestal, where you can climb under the skirts of Lady Liberty to learn the story of her construction. Find out the inside scoop on the dramatic sculptor, the frosty reception that New Yorkers gave to the new statue, and the seagull casualties caused by the torch. Get panoramic views (and the ultimate New York selfie) from the pedestal, which looks out at the skyline of Lower Manhattan. The guided tour concludes at Liberty Island: from there, you can board a ferry back to Battery Park, or use your ferry ticket to continue to Ellis Island at no extra cost.

Please note this tour does not include a visit to the Statue of Liberty's Crown, due to security measures in place by the National Park Services who manage the Statue of Liberty.
Tour participants must be able to climb and descend 215 stairs from the Statue lobby to the top of the pedestal.
This tour may not be suitable for young children under the age of 13, as subject matter may be graphic and disturbing.Â
