Elsen Tasarkhai or mini-Gobi is located 280km west of Ulaanbaatar, and it is a sand dune that stretches 80km long, and 5km wide in Hugnu-Tarna National Park of Bulgan province. During the trip, you will be able to visit ruin of Erdenekhamba monastery in the beautiful landscape of Hugnu Khan mountain, visit local nomadic family who lives in the national park. The area presents a unique combination of Mongolian mountains, forests and Gobi-type landscape all in one location. We will sleep overnight in ger (bring your own sleeping bag), drink milk tea, eating local home-made food, help them to round up their animals, and learn how to cook traditional Mongolian food. It is fun. You also can ride camel on the sand dune.
