What To Expect
Begin with pickup at the Nairobi airport or your hotel at 7am, then take a game drive through Nairobi National Park, where rhino, leopards, cheetahs, buffaloes, and hyenas live in grass plains and acacia bush. This is an ideal place to spot some of Africa's most iconic game, and snap photos of towering giraffes with a background of city buildings and skyscrapers. Continue to the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage to learn about the orphan elephants and rhinos that are rescued and nurtured for release into the wild. Meet some of Africa's tallest locals in the Giraffe Center, where Rothschild's Giraffe graze in a semi-wild enclosure of trees and winding rivers - fill your palm with their favorite food, and watch them lap up the treats with long, black tongues. Pause for a lunch break at the Utamaduni Restaurant (own expense), whose menu offers a diverse mix of local and international foods, and take some time to visit the nearby craft market. Stop to see traditional kazuri beads on your way to the Karen Blixen museum, the setting of Out of Africa. Visit Bomas of Kenya to see a show that represents 16 distinct tribal groups from around the country with dances, drumming, and song. This tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel or the airport. Entrance fees not included.
