What To Expect
Your tour starts with pickup at designated hotels in Kowloon and on Hong Kong Island in the early afternoon. Once aboard the coach, head outside the city to the New Territories, first visiting the Kam Tin Walled Village in Yuen Long, which is built of blue brick and was settled by the Tang clan roughly 500 years ago. Then head to the Tin Hau temple at Tai Shu Ha to see a display of far pau (floral wreaths), which villagers believe provide protection and good luck, followed by a visit to the Lam Tsuen Wishing Tree, a large banyan tree where locals burn joss sticks and make wishes. Finally, your last stop is Tse Sui Luen Jewellery, a well-known Hong Kong brand that makes a variety of items, from cut diamonds to original handcrafted jewelry designs. Your tour then continues with a light Chinese dinner before heading to the Chinese New Year Parade in Tsim Sha Tsui, where you have reserved seating. Watch the spectacle of dozens of floats and more than 2,500 performers from Hong Kong and overseas, all here to celebrate the new year in a festive way. Your tour ends here at the parade grounds; because of the congestion after the parade, there is no return transport to your pickup location.
