What To Expect
This Washington, DC photo safari begins at the old trolley desk at Union Station. Whether shooting as a novice or an expert, learn essential tips for capturing the best in every image, regardless of the type of camera being used - from a high-end DSLR to a smartphone, tablet and anything in between. Learn how to properly compose a photo and how to shoot in all lighting conditions. Master shutter speed, F-stop, white balance, ISO settings and more, if applicable. The hands-on guidance during this opening session is worth the price of admission itself. But that's only the beginning. Now it's time to put this valuable knowledge into good practice. And what better subject matter than the famous locations on Capitol Hill? Start at Union Station, admiring the magnificent interior and exterior architecture of the city's top tourist destination. Then it's off to the Thurgood Marshall Federal Judiciary Building - which houses the agencies that support the work of the United States Federal Courts - and up Capitol Hill to photograph the United State Supreme Court Building and the Library of Congress, the oldest federal cultural institution in the United States. Also, photograph the east front of the United States Capitol building, then visit the Russell Senate Office Building, the oldest of the US Senate office buildings and the beautiful United States Botanic Garden. Conclude by photographing the west face of the Capitol building in the late afternoon sun, passing the Peace Monument and statue of Ulysses S. Grant, and ending at the Capitol Reflecting Pool.
