The Imperial Museum has the main collection of the country relative to the Brazilian empire, in particular the so-called Second Reign, period ruled by d. Pedro II. There are about 300 thousand museum, archival and bibliographical items available to researchers and others interested in knowing a little more about the subject. When entering, people with bags, backpacks etc. they should be left in the luggage compartment, which provides convenience in the visit and prevents accidents with the public and the collection. It is also necessary to store cameras and camcorders, because to preserve the collection and improve the flow of visitation, it is not allowed to photograph or film inside the palace.Besides the palace, the Imperial Museum has other areas of visitation: the Hall of the Battle of Campo Grande; the Pavilhao das Vaturas; and the Pátio Lourenço Luiz Lacombe.
