Learn to scuba dive in one of the world's top locations for underwater wonders: Cairns, Australia and the Great Barrier Reef. Your professional and friendly instructors lead a 4-day PADI Open Water dive course for your small group limited to eight people. You'll gradually learn the skills you need to scuba dive and earn the internationally recognized PADI certification. Practice basic scuba skills in the classroom, a swimming pool, and on confined water dives, then discover the Great Barrier Reef on open-water dives. Hotel transfers are included each day.

What To Expect

Start your days early with morning pickup at your Cairns hotel. For the first two days, your small-group class meets with your instructor in the classroom and swimming pool to learn basic scuba diving skills. On your third and fourth days, you'll head out to the Great Barrier Reef with your small-group and instructors. There, complete your PADI training as you scuba dive at sites on the Great Barrier Reef, one of the most coveted locations in the world for scuba aficionados. Two lunches and round-trip hotel transport are included.ItineraryDay 1: CairnsAfter being picked up from your Cairns hotel, your first day is all about getting prepared to enter the water. Complete your medical checks and paperwork on site at 8am, then begin the day's classroom and video sessions. If you don't pass the medical/swimming check, you'll receive a full refund on Day 1. After a break for lunch, join in the afternoon's pool training session, then be returned to your hotel.Day 2: CairnsOn the second day of your PADI Open Water Diver course, there are more classroom and video sessions in the morning, including completion of a small exam. After the lunch break, refine your skills in the training pool. Day 3: Cairns - Great Barrier Reef (L)Today takes you out to the Great Barrier Reef on board the cruise vessel known as the Evolution Visit two great dive sites to carry out a series of training skills in the open water environment, and then put your training to the test by completing two dives. While out on the water, enjoy a barbecue lunch on board the boat.Day 4: Cairns - Great Barrier Reef (L)On the fourth day of your dive course, return to the Great Barrier Reef dive sites aboard the Evolution. On the completion of two dives, plus all the paperwork, your instructor will present you with your PADI Open Water scuba-diving license! Enjoy a barbecue lunch served on the boat, and in the evening celebrate your new diving status with dinner and drinks.
