What To Expect
Meet your guide and group of 25 fellow travelers at the Musee d'Orsay at 9:15am. With your tour's skip-the-line access, you'll proceed past the large crowds waiting in line for tickets and get started exploring right away. See the largest collection of Impressionist and post-Impressionist art in the world, housed in a renovated 19th-century train station. You'll immediately understand why this museum, flooded with natural light, is named as the favorite by many Parisians. As you follow along on your guided tour, see some of the most recognizable paintings in history: Monet's Blue Water Lillies, Renoir's Bal du Moulin de la Galette and Van Gogh's Starry Night over the Rhone. Learn how these paintings and this style was considered radical at their time of creation and why society originally rejected these masterpieces. After your guided tour, take a break for some free time and lunch in the area. Your guide is happy to make suggestions, or you can set out and explore on your own. Meet back up with your guides and group at the Blanche metro station at 2:45pm. On your gudied walking tour of the Montmartre neighborhood, follow in Modigliani, Utrillo, and Picasso's footsteps, artists who used this neighborhood as their playground. Listen as your guide tells tales of drinking, dancing and debauchery that took place at recognizable landmarks like the Moulin Rouge and Place du Tertre. See the only vineyard within the Paris city limits and the basilica of Sacre Coeur.Conclude your 7-hour tour in Montmartre.
